New graphics card but no performance increase. Why?

Its a nvidia GTX550Ti, and i have installed it, it has the right power supply, and works with the computer. But it now displays very poorly, everything is zoomed in and pixelated and gaming is even worse. Its like the graphics card isnt even there. What should i do???|||If your sure you Installed it Update it from windows update or go on device manager|||Sounds like you don't have the drivers installed, so the computer isnt recognizing the graphics card. Try this link, and choose your graphics card, then install the software and go into your graphics properties to change the resolution if it doesnt do it automatically.

download the driver here:

http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.asp…|||Sounds like you didn't install the drivers for that card...and/or...you didn't uninstall the old drivers and there is a conflict.
